Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Tearfully Accepts Late Actor's First Golden Globe

Chadwick Boseman is a Golden Globes winner.

On Sunday (February 28), the late actor, who passed away in August following a private four-year battle with colon cancer, was posthumously awarded best actor in a drama motion picture for his performance in Netflix's Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

The beloved actor's wife Taylor Simone Ledward accepted the award on his behalf, choking back tears as she thanked those who supported her late husband.

“He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices. He would thank his incredible team,” she said. “He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of all of us that tells you, ‘You can,’ that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history.”

The award marks Chadwick's first Golden Globes win. He beat out Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Riz Ahmed (The Sound of Metal), Gary Oldman (Mank), and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian).
