A group of California Republican lawmakers opted to join President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend as the Los Angeles wildfires continue to devastate the city.

According to reports, Trump met with House Republicans at his Florida resort throughout the weekend to promote unity in the party and strategize the best way to advance his tax and immigration agenda. Trump's meetings with state representatives come after he convened with GOP senators on Capitol Hill last week. The president-elect is reportedly trying to garner support from different factions of the party as he attempts to craft a massive legislative package to advance his political priorities.

"There is great unity, whether it is one bill or two bills, it's going to get done one way or the other,” Trump said after last week's meeting with Senators.

Several meetings were reportedly held at Mar-a-Lago with GOP lawmakers from New York, New Jersey, and California. The California House Delegation is facing backlash for reportedly fleeing the state to join Trump as Los Angeles residents are seeking aid and support amid the wildfires that have left at least 16 dead, thousands under evacuation orders, and countless properties burned.

With the exception of David Valadao, who voted to impeach Trump after the January 6 Capitol Riots, the California House Delegation, including Representatives Jay Obernolte, Tom McClintock, Kevin Kiley, Doug LaMalfa, Darrell Issa, Ken Calvert, Vince Fong, and Young Kim, were all pictured with the president-elect over the weekend, per MeidasTouch News.

The GOP representatives were blasted on social media for rubbing elbows with Trump as the wildfires in Southern California continued to rage.
